The article I choose is titled "Court Strikes Down Ohio Congressional Map, Says It’s Gerrymandered To Benefit GOP." Written by Sam Levine over how the districts in Ohio were so critically drawn to profit Republicans it breaks the First, 14th amendments, and Article I of the U.S. Constitution. They also have till June 14th to replace the map and give a decent district drawing. Considering the Republicans have maintained the redrawing process since 2011, but only this year it has been brought to the attention of judges of their unfair gerrymandering. Which gerrymandering is hindering people from choosing their preferred members of the House. This suit was filed last year about the 2012 map and how it weakens the votes of Democrats. Many other states have begun to prevent electoral districts that gerrymander and this is only the start. Which the Supreme Court is not too happy about to allow federal courts to pick and choose. But I think this is more of a local government issue to take care of because it is more relative to surrounding areas than the US as a country. The writer also mentions that having the Republicans being able to redraw the lines it also lets them take more seats. Which in the long run it does affect the Supreme Court and I can see why they are iffy about the situation.  Not only are their 5 Republican members comparing to 4 Democrats it explains why it takes so long to take care of these shady circumstances.
